Professor of Gastroenterology and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Rector Turkey Prof. Dr. Yusuf Yılmaz was born in Rize in 1978. He was accepted to Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1996 and successfully completed his medical degree and received the title of 'Medical Doctor' in 2002. He entered Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine by passing the Medical Specialization Exam in the same year and received the title of 'Internal Medicine Specialist' in 2007. After completing his compulsory service, he started his subspecialty training at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Gastroenterology Department with the subspecialty exam he passed in 2008. He became a 'Gastroenterology Specialist' in 2011. Yusuf YILMAZ, who successfully passed the 'Associate Professorship' exam, which was an important step in his academic career, was appointed as a 'Teaching Member' at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in 2012 and continued his academic and scientific studies at Marmara University. According to Webometrics 2006 data, Dr. Yusuf YILMAZ has achieved the success of being ranked 223rd among scientists in Türkiye, not only in the field of Medicine but among all scientists, as a young academician.
